The naked invasion of Libya was an outright theft for their oil and gold. The U.K., France and Italy are terrorist nations who recruited, trained and armed a non-existent insurgency. The U.S. is a party also to this terrorist act.
The British people just like the Americans must be prepared for an armed revolution to exterminate the international banking cartels that seek to bankrupt and take over sovereign governments by fraud and deceit.

This practise is an absolute outrage and out and out theft.
Firstly I worked in hotels, restaurants and pubs for a long time and we kept our own tips in those days or shared them amongst all the restaurant staff.
Secondly when I go out for a meal and I get very good service from the waiting staff I like to tip them accordingly and also the more they give the more they get!
I am outraged that managment and owners think they should be allowed to steal the tips of these hard working people, how DARE they?! And also how is that encouraging hard working and happy work ethics and enviroment.
It is utterly disgraceful! And the government should act to stop it now!
Here are a couple of places I would like to name and shame:
THE PAVILION HOTEL in York where the delightful owner pockets the tips and robs her hard working staff.
PICCOLINOS, greedy managment rob their hard working staff.
This needs to be sorted out and the staff themselves are often to scared or bullied into not speaking out. Tnis is exploited even more because of unemployment being as it is.

I am not sure if you're aware but a lot of companies are aware that their staff will be asked the question of where their tips go to.To combat this, they threaten the staff, telling them that all of their tips will be taken away if they do not LIE to the customers by telling them that they receive all tips, even when this is 100% inaccurate.I left a place after working there for one day, having learned that although the waiters keep their cash tips, 40% has to be tipped out and given to the bar/kitchen staff. 100% of the credit card tips goes to the company and is used to pay the kitchen staff wages. It is beneficial for the company to receive card tips and so this is actively encouraged. In fact, a certain amount has to be met each month and when this is not reached, all tips are taken away, including cash tips.

@PeterW- Well said. The fact is that I have participated in direct on-the-street protests and have never felt that signing an online petition was a replacement for personal involvement. Like now, I am abroad so I have been supporting OWS through various other means. I have made contributions, signed petitions, called city officials about police abuse, emailed my "representatives," written blog posts, tweeted and re-tweeted about important events, etc. Taking action online to support a cause may fall short of sleeping in the rain but sometimes it just isn't possible to live up to that high standard of action. There are many reasons why someone may support an idea and not be able to "take to the streets." What of a person who isn't physically able to take part in direct action, should they feel guilty & think of themselves as a slacktavist?

We all should do what we can in support of making our world a better and sustainable place for everyone. That being said, people are seriously suffering right now. I do think people should at least be willing to be inconvenienced and take a stand if and when they can.

I think the Adbusters' argument only works if we are all potential on-the-street campaigners. Shame on me perhaps, but I have never actively campaigned on any subject. I'd guess there are millions like me, with commitments getting in the way or distance or some other excuse/reason for not doing so. Supporting organisations like Avaaz, has not stopped me getting involved, it's informed me and offered me a way of getting involved that does not adversely affect those close to me, who may disagree or, more likely, just don't want to know. Although I am frequently checking other sources that Avaaz are what they say they are, I want them to be what they claim, to represent the silent majority, to inspire/support the activists and scare the hell out of those abusing power.

There's always someone to say what you're doing is no good, isn't there?
So everyone should sit around doing nothing?
This type of comment stops good things happening.

I liked this! For me, the power of a hashtag is that it is a link. It connects, and connects people as well as content. Moreover, it does so 'horizontally' (peer to peer), rather than more traditional 'vertical' media interaction of big name group to an audience.

Have you read Henry Jenkins' Convergence Culture? You might like Henry Jenkins' Convergence Culture. Or you might hate it. Bit out of date now maybe.
